Division Responsibilities
Department Organization
The Parks and Recreation Department is organized by program area, with each program administered by a supervisor, coordinator, or specialist. In addition, there are a group of affiliated organizations that operate out of City facilities and park locations. These activities are co-sponsored by the Department, but are not staffed or supervised by City personnel.
Parks and Recreation Services
City-owned facilities used for these programs include:
- Municipal Services Building
- Terrabay Gymnasium and Recreation Building
- Westborough Recreation Building and Pre-School
- Siebecker Center
- Orange Pool and Recreation Building
- Magnolia Center
- Community Learning Center
Administration Division
This division works closely with the Public Works Department to:
- Maintain the City's parks and recreation infrastructure
- Accomplish renovations and upgrades
- Plan for acquisition of new property and new park improvements
Co-Sponsored Groups
In addition to the direct provision of services listed above, the Department facilitates 12 non-profit, co-sponsored groups that provide recreation and community services in City facilities. To find out more, view the Affiliated Groups.
